LOGISTIC / ADMINISTRATIVE
Should I reserve two hotels, one in Girona and one in Barcelona? >> It's not needed, since the congress will entirely develope in Barcelona after the first day. The opening session in Girona will take few hours (institutional salutations, opening lecture and cocktail, visit in the center) and a bus will be available to go from Barcelona to Girona, in the morning, and from Girona to Barcelona, in the evening.
How can I go to Girona from Barcelona? >> The congress will provide a bus shuttle service from the station of Sants. However, Girona is quite easy to reach from Barcelona: by train (between 40 and 80 minutes depending on the chosen train service), by bus (50 minutes) and by car (between 45 and 60 minutes depending on traffic). Girona itself has an international airport with direct connection to many European cities.
Will the visits have a cost? >> So far, all the visits that we are including in the program are for free.
When should I pay the inscription? >> The form for inscription will be available from July 5th. If you are already sure that you will participate, regardless of the results of the peer review of your paper/papers, you can pay through bank transfer starting from April 27th.
If we are more than one author, shall all the authors pay the inscription? >> At least one inscription has to be paid for each paper, regardless of the number of authors.
ACADEMIC
What will be the language of the congress? >> English. An automatic translation to both Spanish and Italian will be provided. Please note that we recommend to prepare your presentations in English. However, in case the person presenting the paper does not speak English at all, an automatic translation to English will also be provided for those presenting in Spanish, Italian, Catalan or Portuguese.
By the given deadline (May 29th) do I have to submit just the abstract of the full paper? >> The submission is unique: by May 29th you have the submit the full paper with all its required parts (abstract; biography; full text; images with captions; references spreadsheet).
Do I have to upload two versions of my paper, one in English and the other in Spanish/Italian? >> No, the paper (and so the abstract, the biography and the captions) has to be unique, including both versions (first, the one in English and then the other in Spanish or Italian). We recommend to use automatic translators, nowaday they are quite common, mostly for free and easy to use. We suggest to check the final result, prior to submit the paper.
How many files do I have to upload? >> Each submission will be composed of five parts: one file will be the full text (both in English and Spanish or Italian); another file will be the abstract; another part will be the folder with the images and, in it, the file with the captions; another file will be the biography of the author / authors; the last file will be the Excel spreadsheed with the references.
In the webpage there is still available for download a "template" for the paper but some indications contradict the editorial norms. Which document do we have to follow? >> As stated in one of our emails, the agreement for the indexed pubblication of the proceeding has been achieved only after the launch of the call of paper. Therefore, we've had to update the requirements established by the publisher to meet the SCOPUS standards. We've kept the former template available for download just as a guide for the styles of the .doc document but the editorial lines to follow are the ones established by the publisher (available here) and not the first template.
What are the format and extension of the paper? >> The documents must be in .doc or .docx format. The extension of the abstract is 800 carachters, the biography of the authors has to be no more than 300 carachters for each author and the full text must not exceed 30.000 carachters. All these indications include spaces. You can compress the folder of the images and the caption in a .zip file. The references spreadsheet will have to follow the given template in Excel.
Must the submission be anonimous? >> Yes: the text of the full paper must not have any indication about the authors as well as the file with the captions and the references spreadsheet. The abstract and the biography are the only file that will contain information about the authors.
Will I receive a certificate of participation? >> Yes, it will be available on the last day of the congress.
